DAVID ROTH IN CONCERT
Tampa Unity presents recording artist DAVID ROTH,
Friday, October 13th at 7:30 PM.
James Taylor meets Jerry Seinfeld? Award-winning
singer and songwriter David Roth visits Tampa Unity
for the first time with his unique original music,
replete with hilarity, poignancy, spontaneity, and
inspiration. David’s resume includes top honors at two
of the country’s premier songwriter festivals -Kerrville
(TX) and Falcon Ridge (NY) - chosen both times from
nationwide fields of several hundred artists. With 9
recordings, a NAIRD Indie nomination
(singer/songwriter Album of the Year), lyrics in
several Chicken Soup for the Soul books, two national
anthems for the NBA’s Michael Jordan-era Chicago
Bulls, and appearances at concert halls and
conferences throughout North America,
David’s “heavy-mental” music strikes many chords,
hearts, and minds.
"David has reached our hearts. With voices like his
still singing, there's a certainty that the candle will
remain lit, the hope reasserted and the dream still
sung..." - Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul & Mary)
Suggested love offering for the evening is $15.00
Tickets are available the night of the concert or in
advance at the bookstore.
THE LAW OF ATTRACTION = SPIRIT IN
ACTION
WE HERE AT UNITY UNDERSTAND THE LAW OF
ATTRACTION:
- We reap what we sow.
- What we send out – whether positive or
negative – comes back to us, many
times over.
- We are the sum total of all our thoughts and
actions up to this point.
But the Law of Attraction doesn’t just apply to our
thoughts and what they manifest in our lives. It also
applies to our attitudes about giving of our time, our
treasures, and our talents – and how it effects our
spiritual development. Think about it: when we help
others, we expand our spirit.
So how can you help Tampa Unity? We still need
assistants for our Sunday School teachers, and folks
to help out with coffee and snacks on Sunday
mornings. And there are plenty of other opportunities
available. Just see me at the sign up table in
Fellowship Hall!
If everyone helped out just a little, can you imagine
what we could accomplish?

THANKSGIVING AT TAMPA
UNITY
BEFORE YOU TRUSS UP YOUR
TURKEY, take time to de-stress yourself at the
Thanksgiving Eve Meditation Service at 6:30 pm,
Wednesday, November 22. Rev. Allen will lead a
soothing, pre-holiday reflection on gratitude.
DON’T STAY HOME ALONE...
No one to spend your Thanksgiving holiday with? No
problem. Reverends Allen and Debbie Moss, along with
Rev. Enrique and Aura Amoros, are hosting the annual
Don’t Stay Home Alone Dinner on Thanksgiving Day
(November 23). The turkey will be provided.
Attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert:
enough to feed at least 10 people each. Advance
reservation is a must. Please see Carol in
Fellowship Hall for a sign up sheet and list of
suggested side dishes.
FOOD DRIVE BRINGS BOXES OF
HOPE
TAMPA UNITY WILL SPONSOR ITS
ANNUAL HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE for Metropolitan
Ministries. Beginning October 28, look for the
collection boxes in the Sanctuary narthex and in
Fellowship Hall. This holiday season, Metropolitan
Ministries is expecting to serve over 13,000 families
with holiday assistance. Their theme is "Boxes of
Hope.” And it takes a lot of food to fill 13,000 boxes!
Past years’ drives have been extremely successful,
collecting hundreds of pounds of food for needy
families through out the Tampa Bay area. Non-
perishable items needed include boxed cereals,
canned fruits and vegetables, packaged dessert
mixes, and gift certificates for turkeys. Watch your
Sunday bulletins for a complete list. For safety
concerns, please do not bring in glass containers.
Please bring your items in by Monday, Nov. 20, for
Thanksgiving delivery, and Tuesday, Dec. 19, for
Christmas delivery. Last year, our church collected
560 pounds of food to assist less fortunate members
of our community. Thank you for your support again
this year!
MOVIES WITH A MESSAGE
INSPIRATIONAL MOVIE NIGHTS in October will feature
two new films containing life altering messages: The
Secret and Conversations with God
The
Secret has existed throughout the history of
humankind. It has been discovered, coveted,
suppressed, hidden, lost and recovered. It has been
hunted down, stolen, and bought for vast sums of
money. Now for the first time in history, The
Secret is being revealed to the world. A number
of exceptional men and women discovered The
Secret, and went on to become known as the
greatest people who ever lived.
Now, The Secret reveals amazing real life stories and
testimonials of regular people who have changed their
lives in profound ways. By applying The Secret
they present instances of eradicating disease,
acquiring massive wealth, overcoming obstacles, and
achieving what many would regard as impossible.
You can learn The Secret, Friday,
October 6 at 7:30 in the Sanctuary.
On Friday, October 20, at 7 pm or Sunday,
October 22, at 4:30 pm, we present
Conversations With God.
This first run film will open in theaters across the
nation the weekend of October 27, but you can see
it first at Tampa Unity! Adapted from the books by
Neal Donald Walsch that inspired and changed the
lives of millions worldwide, Conversations With
God tells the true story of Walsch who, at the
lowest point in his life, asks God some very hard
questions. The film chronicles the dramatic journey of
a down-and-out man who inadvertently becomes a
spiritual messenger and bestselling author.
You are invited to attend a night or afternoon of
meaningful entertainment for a suggested love
offering of $10 Tickets are available in advance at
the bookstore or at the door. Childcare is available
with advance notice only!
If you would like to volunteer for movie nights (you
get to see the movie for free!) see Carol Ferguson on
Sundays or email her at

COOKIN’ GOOD!
THE TAMPA UNITY SUPPER CLUB met Saturday
evening, Sept. 16, for their annual kick-off dinner!
Twenty-two people attended the potluck, where
good food and fellowship highlighted the evening.
After the meal, participants were assigned (by
random drawing) to the three new Supper Club
Circles. Each of these Circles will meet once a month
for the next year, as we expand our network of
friends within the Tampa Unity community. Each
Circle member hosts a dinner one time.
If anyone is interested in joining Supper Club but
missed the kickoff dinner, there is room within the
Circles for a few more members. This is a wonderful
way to meet like-minded people and become better
acquainted with fellow "Unitics." Please call Sherry
Keller at 239-3801 to join this ongoing social
activity.

ANNUAL MEETING BRINGS IN NEW BOARD
MEMBERS
WE ARE FORTUNATE HERE AT TAMPA UNITY to have
a dedicated Board of Trustees industriously working
behind the scenes. As our annual meeting on October
29th draws near, we will focus on electing new
members to replace those whose time of service has
expired.
For the last year, the members you elected to our
Board have work diligently to make decisions at
monthly meetings and give guidance. They rarely get
their deserved recognition or appreciation for all the
work they do.
We are filled with gratitude for the following members
who have served our spiritual community so well and
are now leaving the board. Debbie Rowe has served
as Vice President for the last two years. More than
three years ago, Debbie began to hold the vision that
Fellowship Hall would be renovated. She leaves with
a great deal of satisfaction that her vision has been
completed. Angel Rosado has served as secretary
and liaison between the board and our Spanish
community. Angel recently married a minister and now
understands, in a new way, what ministry is all
about. Many thanks also go to this year’s Board
alternates: Pat Fenda and Kimberly Taylor.
We deeply appreciate those who will continue to lead
our spiritual community Jeffrey King, Diane Kelly,
Fletcher Dyches, and Rick Jachimski.
At the annual meeting, members will have the
opportunity to vote on two new Board of Trustees
members to replace Debbie Rowe and Angel Rosado.
In addition, two alternates will be selected.
Nominated are Pat Fenda, Cristina McCreary, Sally
Rogers, and Scott Barry. Voting members of Tampa
Unity will receive a packet of information concerning
the candidates in the mail within the next few weeks.
For those unable to attend the meeting, an absentee
ballot is now available.
Everyone is invited to attend the Annual Meeting at
11:45 am on Sunday, October 29. In addition to the
voting, there will be a financial report and a
presentation by the Visioning Committee.
Stay on after the meeting for a fundraiser lunch and
show presented by the Spanish Ministry.
Focus on... You!
Many of you have participated in our “Meet With The
Ministers” Focus Groups. The results of these
meetings will be revealed in the near future. “Thank
You” to those who opened their homes and to you
who participated. We love hearing your ideas!

YOGA DE-STRESS
A BUNCH OF BENDY GIRLS AND BOYS have descended
upon us. Yoga class meets Thursday nights at 6
p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The class is offered by Pat
Fenda and Debbie Rowe, and even our very own Allen
Moss attends. If he can do a perfect yoga tree pose,
you can too!
Let’s cut to the chase here. When was the last time
your joints and digestive system were behaving for
you at the same time? Yoga can aid in getting relief
for your joints and will kick start your internal organs
for proper functioning. For some of us, that sweet
relief hasn’t been had for 20 or more years.
For many stressed-out work-aholics, yoga is also a
method to slow it all down and be still, finding inner
peace. It is a link to your spirit. By focusing on the
timing and flow of your breath with your body
movement, you stop the world for a while. It’s a
beautiful integration of physical and spiritual in a
quiet setting with soft music and mood lighting.
Plus, you can wear funky clothes and colorful tights
and no one with think you’re a weirdo. Belly rolls are
welcome. Cost is $10 sugested love offering.
